Zola McDaniel: Zola McDaniel was a freelance writer at The Rocket Magazine in Seattle during the 1990s. In 2024, she asked Charles R. Cross, former Editor in Chief to copyedit Pink Umbrellas Love Rainydaze. What followed became a masterclass in spare writing and Seattle history. Unfortunately, Charles passed away before it was finished. The project stalled while she found a new editor. Gillian G. Gaar, former Senior Editor at The Rocket helped keep the original voice.
